1. What We Collect and Why

When you register, we collect your username, email address, and password (stored in hashed form), together with the name, country, city, gender, and date of birth you provide. We use your date of birth to confirm that you meet the minimum age required by the Terms of Service. When you use the Service, we store the content you create: pet profiles (including the pet's name, breed, date of birth, photos, and description), status updates, messages, photos, forum posts, listings in the Adopt and Help section, reactions, and notification preferences. We also receive technical data such as your IP address, browser type, and device information, and we use cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We process this data to provide the Service and your account, to keep the community safe and moderate content, to send you messages and notifications you have requested, and where the law requires us to.

2. How Long We Keep It and Who Sees It

We keep your account data while your account is active and you use the Service. Content you delete is removed from public view immediately and is purged from backups on their next rotation. We keep logs and IP data only as long as needed for security and support. We do not sell your personal data. Your data is shared with the providers that host and operate the Service under contract, with other users to the extent your profile or content is set to public, and with law enforcement or a supervisory authority where we are legally required to disclose it, for example on a court order or in response to a substantiated report of illegal content.

3. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection to processing, and you may withdraw any consent you have given. You can exercise these rights through the settings available in your profile and by contacting us through the contact information available on the Service. You may also complain to the supervisory authority in your country: in Serbia, the Office for Freedom of Information and Personal Data Protection (Poverenik za informacione slobode i zaštitu podataka ličnih podataka); in Croatia, the Croatian Data Protection Agency (Hrvatski zavod za zaštitu podataka, HAZA).

4. Children

The Service is intended for users aged 16 and over, as stated in the Terms of Service. We collect a date of birth at registration to enforce this requirement. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided personal data to us, please contact us and we will delete it.

5. Security, Changes, and Contact

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, but no method of transmission or storage is fully secure, as described in the Terms of Service. We may update this policy from time to time; material changes are announced through the same channels as changes to the Terms of Service.
